Why subscribe?

Frog’s Glen is the name of a house my partner and I recently built in a seaside farming valley outside Tokyo. I write several times weekly about life in this remote place, as well as about the traditions, beliefs, and personalities of the people we meet.

It’s lighthearted, but I think you will find here a Japan that many academics and professional “watchers” miss.

“Written exceptionally well in a distinctive voice.”

“Jack is a delight to read.”

Stay up-to-date

I write each week. Every update goes directly to your inbox until you say oh god please make it stop.
